Save the Children – Protect the Magic

Sophie Mirman - Founder and Creative Director, Trotters Childrenswear

This year I am very excited to announce that we are partnering with a charity very close to my heart, Save the Children.

Christmas is supposed to be magic for children everywhere, but sadly that isn’t always the case. This year, Save the Children are aiming to protect that magic by ensuring that children have enough food or the right medicines to allow them to see the wonder in the world.

I love seeing the joy in the faces of our little customers as they get excited for the festive period, and I’m hoping that you can help us to spread some of that joy by supporting this amazing charitable cause.

How you can support Save the Children with us:

  • Our teams will be taking part in Christmas Jumper Day. Why not join us and come in to store wearing yours on the 10th December? We will be giving lollipops away to any children who come in wearing something festive. You can donate £2 by texting TEAMTROTTERS to 70050 (usual text message rates apply).
  • Save the Children have also launched a crafting kit which we will be selling online and in stores. For just £3, you’ll have everything you need to jazz up an existing jumper using removable badges, promoting a more sustainable option for Christmas Jumper Day.
  • We have developed new functionality on our website that allows you to donate an amount of your choice at checkout.

Here are some examples of what can be done with your donations:

£1 could provide 1kg of nutritious fruit for a woman in one of Save the Children’s Mother and Baby Areas in Syria, where they provide a safe and supportive space for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

£8 could provide hygiene kits for two children, including a towel, soap, toothpaste and a brush.

£15.50 could provide a child in Haiti with a play kit, made up of toys like musical instruments and balls.

£30 could provide a household kit for one Afghan refugee family of six. This includes essential items like blankets, a mosquito net, cooking utensils and a can for storing water.

We hope you’ll join us this year as we raise funds to support Save the Children and Protect the Magic this season.
