An update to our Trotters Family (COVID-19)

An update to our Trotters Family (COVID-19)

Update: 19th July 2021

In line with government guidance, we will be removing the social distancing requirement in our Stores.

We will however be continuing with many of the safety measures we introduced last summer, such as regular cleaning, frequent hand washing and temperature checking of team members on arrival to work, and children prior to a haircut.

Please note that, although social distancing will be relaxed, we will still be following Covid safety protocols at Trotters. Among these will be for all our staff to continue wearing masks, if they can, and a request to our customers that, if they feel comfortable doing so, they do the same.

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Update: 31st March 2021

My team and I will be delighted to welcome you back to our stores, from Monday 12 April.

With new Summer ranges now available for you to browse and a complete range of footwear and gift accessories newly arrived, we are so excited to see you once again.

Whether its just to say hello, browse our new collections or have your children’s hair cut (at last!) I’m sure you’ll be as happy as we are, to be back.

We will, of course, have special protection and safety measures, which are detailed on our website here.

Hairdressing is already very busy, but do book an appointment as soon as you know when you’ll have the time to come and see us click here.

Thank you for your patience. We realise that we’ve all been under a lot of stress this past year. Let’s all look forward to a fabulous Summer.

Update: 19th December 2020

Please note that in accordance with the latest Government Guidelines and new Tier 4 restrictions, our Stores are now closed.

However, we will have team members at all Stores between 10am-5pm for Click & Collect orders placed online for collection up to and including the 24th December.

We are sorry to advise that all hairdressing appointments have been cancelled, and refunds processed. A Trotters team member will be in touch regarding this.

Our online store remains open and should you have any urgent queries we can be contacted via our Live Chat service.

Update: 26th November 2020

Mr. Trotter and his team of merry elves have been working really hard behind the scenes to ensure a safe welcome back to our stores next Wednesday, 2 December. The store teams are chomping at the bit to reopen and are so looking forward to seeing you from Wednesday onwards.

Since we last closed, we’ve been working hard to improve what we do and how we do it. We have partnered up with Treatwell, an online booking platform, to make your hairdressing bookings even smoother than before. We are now taking appointments for haircuts starting on Thursday, 3 December, giving you plenty of time to get your little ones ready for Santa’s arrival.

Our stores and our online shop have a gorgeous selection of Christmas gifts, including beautiful tartan dresses, fabulously soft knitwear, and a great range of cotton pyjamas. Our sparkly party shoes are sure to go down a treat as are our ever popular velvet Plums going up to a size 43 so mummies can match with their mini me’s. We have a carefully edited and curated selection of toys and books and online, we are offering a personalisation service for a great range of gifts.

I will be in our stores as much as possible until Christmas, obviously making sure that I socially distance, so please do pop in and say hello and please feel free to email me with any comments or suggestions at sophie.mirman@trotters.co.uk.

I wish you and your family a merry and, above all, a healthy festive season and a happy New Year, remembering just how much we all have to be grateful for.

Update: 4th November 2020

There is always something very special as we prepare for Christmas and this year is no exception, even in these challenging times, when things are not what we would wish for ourselves, or for our loved ones. We may not even all get together, as we would normally do, and some of our Merry Christmas wishes may well have to be virtual. However, we must still remember all we have to be grateful for and count our blessings.

In this, our 30th anniversary year, my team at Trotters and I are determined to do our best to make this a very special Christmas in our stores and online, with fabulous windows, great gifts, gorgeous clothes and shoes. Our online store will continue to be available to you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, right up until Christmas; our physical stores will reopen on 3 December, or as soon as permitted, giving you plenty of time to visit us. We will continue to offer Click & Collect in Kings Road, Kensington and Northcote Road. Additionally a Call & Collect service will be available in theses stores for a same day shopping service.

We have worked even harder to create the most beautiful outfits, while sourcing traditional and unique gifts and books. Wherever possible, we not only use use organic fabrics but the toys we offer are either made from sustainable wood or from from recycled materials.

All our clothes are made in Europe by family run manufacturers who share the same values as we have: providing the best quality, at the best price, using the finest fabrics without scrimping on any detail. Everything we create is made to last, and hand down to the next generation.

Beyond anything, all the Trotters team, whether processing your online Christmas orders, or assisting you instore, are meticulous about following the latest procedures to ensure they and you, our wonderful customers, stay safe.

As always,I wish you and your family a very happy festive season.

Update: 23rd July 2020

Dear Trotters family and friends,

From Friday the 24th the government has stipulated that face masks are compulsory for all customers over the age of 11 years old who visit our stores.

Please do ask for a disposable one if you have mislaid yours.

Thank you once again for your support.

Update: 21st July 2020

With the current unprecedented pandemic still with us, and the predicted effects it will cause in the long term, we have had to re-evaluate all aspects of the Trotters business.

The requirements for social distancing and ensuring the continued wellness of the Trotters team and that of our customers, particularly with our unique hairdressing and shoe fitting services, means we will need to proactively invest in equipment and continue to limit footfall.

After taking into account all of the above and after careful and serious consideration, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to permanently close the doors to our Guildford store.

Elsewhere we are continuing to review the situation as we come out of the pandemic, however we are committed to maintaining all other Trotters stores and activities.

This year is the 30th birthday for Trotters and unfortunately it has not turned out to be the celebration we had planned, but we will continue to put our best foot forward and provide a safe and welcoming environment for both our team members and our customers.

The Trotters ethos remains the same: striving to provide superb quality and an excellent shopping experience for both parents and their children.

See you very soon and please, stay safe,

Update: 7th July 2020

Firstly may I thank you again for all your wonderful messages of support, it is super to see another two stores, High Street Kensington and Westfield re-open today.

It was just so nice to be able to visit the two stores once again and welcome back so many of the Trotters family and friends.

It was also good to welcome back our wonderful hairdressers who are once again looking after our young customers hair.

Appointments can now be booked online in exactly the same way as before we closed, by visiting our Hairdressing page here.

Our cautious and responsible approach has been well received both by our teams and you, our customers and this now gives us the confidence to move onto our third phase of re-opening.

I am delighted therefore to let you know our Trotters store in Turnham Green will now be reopening on Monday the 13th July.

Thank you for your continued support. Your positive messages have helped my team and me through this difficult period.

See you very soon and please, stay safe,

Update: 25th June 2020

Firstly may I thank you for all your wonderful messages of support, when we reopened our stores in Kings Road, Chelsea and Northcote Road, Clapham, last week.

It was just so nice to be able to visit the two stores once again and welcome back so many of the Trotters family and friends.

Our cautious and responsible approach has been well received both by our teams and you, our customers and this now gives us the confidence to move onto our second phase of re-opening.

Our Trotters stores in Kensington and Westfield will now be reopening on Monday the 6th July.

With restrictions gradually easing, we will still remain cautious in order to protect you and our teams, whilst endeavouring to ensure that your experience remains as friendly and fun as possible.

Therefore, from Monday 6th, the Stores will be open to shop in as usual, without a Shopping Appointment. We will monitor the number of people inside the Store at all times, and will need to use a queuing system at busy times.

On the same day we will also (pending any changes in Government guidance) be restarting our hairdressing service in all of the four stores noted above.

Appointments can now be booked online in exactly the same way as before we closed, by visiting our Hairdressing Booking Page on our website.

I'm sure you will understand that we have had to increase the price of a haircut from £18 to £20 to cover the cost of increased time, measures and equipment now required to ensure your safety and security.

Thank you for your continued support. Your positive messages have helped my team and me through this difficult period.

See you very soon and please, stay safe,

Update: 8th June 2020

Dear Friends, I am delighted to tell you that we will soon be reopening two of our stores, in Kings Road, Chelsea and Northcote Road, Clapham.

Despite the Government permitting all stores to reopen from 15th June, we have chosen a more cautious approach, as we take our responsibility extremely seriously and are unwilling to compromise your safety and security, as well as that of our service teams. We also recognise that customer experience is vital to your enjoyment and you expect only the best.

It is with all that in mind, that we are not only taking a phased approach to opening, but entry will, initially, be by appointment, with the first date being Thursday 18th June. This way we will be able to keep numbers reassuringly small and maintain the highest level of customer service. As we learn from your experience, we will then reopen our other stores.

We have, of course, introduced special protection and safety measures, which are detailed here.

Hairdressing will, sadly, not yet be available, and we will let you know as soon when this service can be re-introduced.

Appointments will be available at these stores from Thursday 18th June, and our full ranges of fabulous clothes, shoes, books and gifts will be even better than ever.

If you’d like to be one of our first customers and would like to book an appointment please click here.

Thank you for your support over the past weeks. Your messages of support have helped my teams and me through this difficult period.

See you very soon & stay safe,

Update: 24th March 2020

We would like to reassure all of our customers that our website is still fully operational and we are continuing to process and dispatch all orders as usual. In line with the guidelines set out by Public Health England, we now have extra hygiene measures in place within our warehouse facility. In addition to this, our warehouse team is currently practising social distancing and does not use public transport to get to and from work.

Please note that we continue to offer our 365 day returns policy and that our Customer Service experts are available for advice on shoe fitting as well as our full product range via our Live Chat service or email.

Due to temporary store closures, our Click & Collect service isn't currently available but we are continuing to offer FREE Standard delivery on all UK orders. Please note that our couriers Royal Mail & DHL are continuing to deliver to customers as normal and are currently doing contact-free deliveries.

Update: 20th March 2020

Our physical stores are now closed. Please note that you can still shop with us online.

Update: 18th March 2020

We have decided to close all of our physical stores. Our last day will be Thursday 19 March. We hope to reopen on Friday 27 March, but this will be under constant review.

Please note that our online store remains open (www.trotters.co.uk), offering our full range of products and excellent customer support.

As I wrote only a few days ago, Trotters was supposed to be celebrating 30 years since my partner, Richard and I opened our first store on Kings Road, Chelsea. Trotters is still a family business, and all our customers, teams and suppliers are part of that family.

You, like me, have so many wonderful memories, and it is at times like these that we treasure, even more, our shared journey. As we all face a national and global tragedy, it is a time to demonstrate the best that humanity has to offer. If we can all come out of this, with greater kindness and compassion, then not all will be in vain.

The next few weeks will be hard for us all, but let us all use it as a time to be nice to each other. Say nice things; send and tweet only positive messages and offer help to each other.

Thank you, thank you, for being so loyal, over the last 30 years.

Stay safe!

Update: 16th March 2020

As many of you know, 2020 was envisaged as the year for Trotters to celebrate its 30th Birthday.

Your support over these years is what has kept us motivated and constantly striving to be better and better.

With Coronavirus at the forefront of all of our minds we have taken the necessary action, in line with the Government’s latest advice, to ensure the safety and security of you, our teams and the small family-run factories who we support in Europe.

As a family business ourselves, we treat our teams and customers alike. We can assure you that we are doing our very best, not only to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness in our stores, but also in taking extra hygiene measures within our warehouse when processing your online orders.

At this point in time, we are happy to inform you that all of our stores remain open and that our website continues to stock our full range of new season products, available for delivery direct to your door.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated via email, our website and social channels if anything changes.

We thank you for your understanding, but above all, I send my love to you, your families and friends.

Stay safe!
